1927 W-511 Charles Lindbergh Purple Variation "Rookie" Card

In the rush to make bank on Lindbergh's historic Atlantic crossing, several novelty companies issued cheap penny strip cards featuring his image. Though oddly cut it's mostly all there. Some of his first cards are listed as "1926" but these were 1927 add-ons to existing issues. Purple tint is unusual—most of these cards were blue.
