Item Description

Another gorgeous print dated 1753 from 'The Commentaries of Caesar, Translated into English. To Which is Prefixed a Discourse Concerning The Roman Art of War' by William Duncan. This plate No. 60 is of "Brundusium" which illustrate preparations by Caesar to defend the Port before the siege of Brundisium on the Adiratic coast. Many of the Engravings in "The Commentaries ..." are by Andreas Mantinea (Andrea Mantegna). Framed 21" x 22" visible 15" x 17". Gorgeous print in wonderful condition with new matting. Fantastic gift for the collector of historical prints.
