Item Description

Wonderful Copperplate Engraving of "Arbre's D'Allemagne" (Trees of Germany). "For line engraving, copper was the preferred metal, with its earliest use recorded from the 1430s. Until the 19th century, when steel was introduced, few metals other than copper were employed for intaglio printmaking." This is beautifully matted and ready for framing. Shrink-wrapped but note possible smudging on print, do not want to remove shrink-wrap for closer inspection. Colors are quite vibrant.
