I called and spoke to Chris Candido, I explained that I was running literally a few minutes behind because of an emergency. His response was "we have a hard stop at 3". I said I understand, I don't really need the Rolex keychain (who does?) so we can meet next week or the following week. No rush, I asked if he can ship it because apparently this company does a lot of shipping items to winning bidders. He said it would cost $40, PLUS freight!!!! For a keychain!!! He said the $40 was for his time and gas......WOW! Here's how a professional would've handled this.
Chris: I'm sorry that you're running late, tell you what I'll do. Since we are already dropping off a bunch of other items, we can drop off the keychain. The freight will be maybe $6, don't worry about that. I hope this will be ok for you.
Me: Thank you so much Chris, that is very kind of you. I will be a loyal customer and tell everyone I know how awesome you are.
I get it, we are all busy...........but this guy Chris had an opportunity to help a customer but instead only cared about a few dollars. Hey, now he can keep the Rolex keychain that I was going to give a friend who has cancer, I hope he enjoys it. Always be the best person you can........every day.

Clearing House Estate Sales
*Response to John Lapointe*. While it is our desire to accommodate our customers needs, from time to time situations arise where we cannot be as accommodating due to scheduling constraints. This being the case with John Lapointe and his purchase of a Rolex Key Chain. The Clearinghouse guidelines are very specific when it comes to the allotted pick up window, which in this case was three hours allowing enough time for our bidders to collect their items. Additionally, each bidder is aware that in the event they miss the pick up window their item is forfeited as per Clearinghouse agreed upon guidelines during the bidding process. We understand life happens and we are happy to make other arrangements in the case where John Lapointe asked if we could ship his item, given this takes additional time we charge a fee as would any courier service using their vehicle, gas and time in addition to the shipping cost, which the bidder would also be responsible for in this case we offered a $40.00 fee for our service, as John Lapointe stated he would not make the advertised pick up window. When presented with this option John became very verbally abusive and hung up. This clear act of unprofessional behavior is unacceptable and John will be excluded from future auctions we run, we maintain a zero tolerance policy towards verbal abuse and language unbecoming a professional we’re hard working individuals with a track record of successful auctions, five star reviews and happy repeat customers who we sincerely value and appreciate. In the future John I highly recommend acting in a more professional manner, (in your words) “try to be the best person you can be each and every day”. Lastly, not sure who Chris is, my name is Jim, I ran the auction with my teammate and you and I spoke.
