This Likly trunk was formerly owned by Ernest E. Quantrell, a famous philanthropist who built an authentic log cabin in his house at 5 Leanoard Road, Bronxville, NY which itself was a Tudor Estate built by a famous architect and landscape designer.
See, e.g., https://collections.gilcrease.org/object/tu2009392000
In that cabin, built on the second floor of one wing of the house, he also put antique small, hand-blown, paned windows and gave his famous guests, mostly artists, poets, etc. etching pens and they used them to write notes, poems, or just their signatures. It was absolutely wild! The current owners family purchased 5 Leonard Road from Quantrell's estate and the trunk along with many other amazing items that were included in the sale of the estate.
