Antique Flintlock Musket, United States, 1834

Please note we are not antique musket experts. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Our assessment is as follows: The musket does not have a name or maker on the lock plate and lacks inspectors marks on the wood. The barrel may be made by Hubbard Asabel barrels and stocks.
The lock is unmarked except for an eagle with shield in front of the hammer. The wood buttplate closer to the toe has two splits. Additionally, forward of the breech is another split to the wood. The barrel bands all appear to be intact. The exposed tip of the ramrod is worn. The unexposed end is damaged. The leather shoulder strap is missing and the lock/trigger mechanisms may be missing parts or pieces. The musket shows consistent signs of use and wear for its age.
