Three Acts: Queen Victoria; Law Limiting The Harvest Of Seals For Furs; Burial Act; Stopping Fur Seal Killings.
Various dates of Acts promulgated by Queen Victoria during her long reign as a Monarch.
1. An Act to provide for the establishment of a Close Time in the Seal Fishery in the Seas adjacent to the eastern coasts of Greenland (limiting seal fur harvest which by this time was driving the seal populations to near extinction). 14th June, 1875.
2. An Act to amend and Explain the Burial Act, 29th of June, 1871. Placing a government official on the board of burial of persons who have passed away as there were still going on the 'harvesting' of cadavers for medical research by less than ethical practices.
3. An Act to enable Her Majesty, by Order in Council, to make Special Provision for prohibiting the Catching of Seals (and killing them) in Behring's Sea by Her Majesty's Subjects during the Period Named in the Order. (Victoria was closely related as were nearly all the ancestors to the Czar of Russia and the White Russians who descended from either the Hohenzollern line or the Hapsburg line of heritage, so avoiding a conflict with the Seal harvesting of the Russians).
