Rare De Vries And Ibarra Company (1864-70) Learning Spanish- Peak Of The Cuban Rebellion US Interests were in the explosion of the slave trade in Cuba supporting the explosion of sugar cane fields, refineries, and slaves used to run it all. The Southerners in our United States Government wanted Cuba as an expansion for slavery. This little known publication, helped the many Americans who went to Cuba and other South American countries where Spanish was the spoken language. A rare volume with few copies found. A reasonable opening bid price with estimate of this little gem going much higher.

Published in 1865 at the end of the Civil War in the US, printed and sold by Henry Holt and Company of Boston and imported by De Vries and Ibarra Company of Boston. Inscribed by Lieutenant John Albert Chambers, USNR. The last image is not included in the book but is to use as a reference. It is a receipt from De Vries and Ibarra Company showing more information about the company. Use as reference only.
