Bruce Donald Jaques (1919-2011) During World War II Bruce Jaques became a Navy ACE, credited with the destruction of 5.5 enemy aircraft in aerial combat, plus 3 more on the ground while strafing enemy airfields. Two distinguished flying crosses and a silver star for dedication and bravery. Note, first day cover was created and cancellation stamp is a copy stamp, the stamp is the unauthorized atomic bomb stamp that was cancelled by the US Postal service due to congressional pressure and atomic bomb blast survivors and descendants as well as anti-nuclear activists. Signature is by commander Jaques. Last image of commander Jacques and his awards is for reference only and does not come with the First Day Cover.
