Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

We hope you enjoy the bidding and receiving and enjoying the goods that you have purchased from us. As with all antiques and collectibles, you should always consult with an expert in the field. We do the best we can with the limited information we sometimes have. A failure of information does not void a winning bidder or the sale of the item and the responsibility as a bidder to abide by the Auction Ninja rules and regulations as well as our own.

All sales are final with no refunds, credits, or any other remuneration of any kind. By accepting the terms and conditions and registering for the sale, auction or bidding, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of Calix Books as well as the terms and conditions of Auction Ninja. If in doubt, DO NOT register and DO NOT bid!! 

If you cancel a transaction after making payment and after receiving the item, you will be banned from Auction Ninja and Calix Books auctions. You will also be subjected to legal actions and possible criminal prosecution. All sales are final with no refunds, rebates, or cancellation of payments for any reason whatsoever. By signing up and bidding on our items you agree to all the terms and conditions set forth herein as well as the terms and conditions of Auction Ninja. Do not bid if you cannot complete the purchase of the item! Do not register if your intent is to defraud Calix Books or Auction Ninja in any way whatsoever. Failure to pay will result in termination of the sale and you will incur legal expenses taken on by Calix Books to recover any and all damages sustained by Calix Books and by signing up for the auction with Calix Books or Auction Ninja, you are agreeing to abide by the rules and regulations. Do not register for the auction or for bidding if you are in doubt or intend to defraud either Calix Books or Auction Ninja.

Terms & Conditions

ACCEPTANCE of TERMS: By registering to participate in a Calix Books auction thru AUCTION NINJA, you fully understand and expressly agree to the following terms and conditions, along with the agreement to be so bound. If a purchaser breach any of these Terms of Sale, including the obligation to pay for purchased items, Calix Books may seek all remedies under the law including canceling the sale and reoffering the property without reserve. The rights and obligations of the parties shall be governed by the laws of the state of Massachusetts. By signing up for the auction and registering with Calix Books, you are agreeing to all the terms and conditions set forth herin. If in doubt, DO NOT register and DO NOT bid.

REGISTRATION: Registration is done thru the AUCTION NINJA platform. Buyer agrees to the terms and conditions of Auction Ninja and Calix Books.

PAYMENT: Payment is due upon receipt of invoice and will be charged to your credit card on file. Any other forms of payment must be approved by the office. If you are a dealer, please upload your tax-exempt certificate 48 hours prior to bidding for approval by Auction Ninja. If you do not upload your form within this time frame tax will be charged. If you do not have a valid tax id you will be charged tax. Cancellation of a payment after goods or items have been received constitutes an attempt by you to defraud Calix Books. Failure to complete and honor the terms and conditions of this agreement will result in the filing of criminal fraud by Calix Books against you. DO NOT register or bid if your intent is to defraud Calix Books or Auction Ninja. Calix Books will vigorously pursue your prosecution and you will be held accountable for all expenses incurred by Calix Books for recovery of the item(s) including but not limited to all out of pocket legal expenses, shipping costs, Calix Books personnel time as well as any associated expenses. All sales are final!

TERMS: All sales are final, no credits or returns and are SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH ALL FAULTS. Bidders are strongly encouraged to ask any questions prior to bidding. Please refer to photos as part of the description and or condition. Calix Books will do its best to list any damage, repairs or restorations, the absence of these descriptions or conditions must not be taken to imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Remember you are purchasing antique, secondary market, vintage or used items, expect signs of wear consistent with age. If you have any questions, please text the auction manager. Do not bid if you have any doubts about the items. No refunds for any reason whatsoever. 

BUYERS PREMIUM: A buyer’s premium will be applied to the purchase price of all items. Please view each sale for specific Buyers Premium.

SPECIAL PICK-UP INSTRUCTIONS: Winning bidders must provide boxes and paper. Winning bidders are responsible for removal and loading of all items. Smaller items will be available for curbside pickup. A representative will be there to assist but the winning bidder assumes any and all responsibility for any damage or injury that should take place once they are on the property.

PLEASE NOTE: NEARLY ALL OF OUR AUCTIONS ARE SHIP ONLY AUCTIONS AND ON THE FEW TIMES THAT A LARGE ITEM IS SOLD BY US A PICK UP LOCATION and TIME: Will be provided with your invoice along with any special instruction. ITEMS NOT PICKED UP DURING ALLOTTED TIME WILL BE CONSIDERED FORFEITED WITHOUT REFUND, NO EXCEPTIONS, UNLESS PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE WITH CALIX BOOKS.

Unless prior acceptable pick up or shipping arrangements have been agreed upon prior to purchase, a storage charge of up to $25 a day could be applied to any item left on premise after agreed upon date. Items not picked up may also be subject to a disposal fee charge, depending on size and type of item.

TRANSPORT (ALTERNATIVE PICK UP): As a special service for the convenience of our valued customers: Anyone who would like to pick up their purchases in Lynn, MA we will offer to transfer your purchases to our facility in Lynn for a nominal fee starting at $25 per item to be capped at $100.00. NOTE: EXCLUSIONS APPLY, LARGE OR UNUSUAL ITEMS/LOTS WILL BE ASSESSED A SEPARATE FEE FOR TRANSPORT.

SHIPPING OUT OF STATE: Small items will be given to THE UPS STORE SWAMPSCOTT, Swampscott, MA, (781) 593-9200 or email store1479@theupsstore.com. Buyer pays all costs associated with shipping. We highly recommend you reach out for a quote prior to bidding.  If you would like to use a shipper of your choice, please call Calix Books at (781) 883-6639 to discuss prior to bidding.  If you are buying furniture, we can always provide local trucking services for a delivery fee. FIREARMS SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS: We do not handle, sell, broker, store, or inventory any firearms or firearm support paraphernalia.

ALL CLOCKS, FRAMES, GOLD GILT AND MIRRORS ARE SOLD AS IS: All clocks and timepieces are sold as is, JMA makes no warranties or guaranties that any clock or watch is in working order.
