“Bob Shein - Freelance Illustrator and Humorist” (1937-2015)
Bob graduated from Pratt Institute in 1958. He started his career creating unique and whimsical art for several publications (Seventeen Magazine, Life Magazine, New York Times & Playboy), publishing companies such as Holt Rinehart & Winston, Golden Books, Young, and Rubican, and did several advertising books, posters, and ads for WPAT Radio. He went on to illustrate books with Bill Martin Jr. and other writers, and also received pages in many educational series by Random House, Scholastic, and Macmillan.
He started with cartoons made from ink lines and watercolors, to colored pencils on black paper series. He then went on to create three-dimensional paper sculptures and wood sculptures. Many were used as book jacket covers for novels, children’s books, posters, and business magazine articles. As the computer took over the advertising field, Bob retired taking on small jobs here and there but spent many years creating elaborate three-dimensional paper sculptures and sculptures made from various odd and end items he found. He had an innate ability to see the wonder and humor in almost every object. His art is a great example of that. Over the years, Bob and his wife Elisa, who was born in Argentina, collected antiques and books. They loved to go antiquing and visit old book shops. Bob’s art and the many objects they gathered together over the years made for an eclectic house filled with humor and laughter.

A) the shipping destination does not collect sales tax locally (Such as Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon) or;
B) you have a valid resale certificate
