Louis Icart (1880-1950) was a French artist known for his glamorous and sensual drawings and prints of women and his depictions of Parisian nightlife during the Art Deco movement. He moved to Paris in 1907 to study painting, drawing, and printmaking and was heavily influenced by 18th-century painters. Icart was also a fashion designer during a time of significant change in the industry, from 19th-century styles to more figure-conscious designs. His etchings of seductive female figures were widely published in the 1920s and '30s, bringing him great success.
