VINTAGE FIGURAL WEED POT OR CANDLE HOLDER DESIGNED BY ELSI BOURELIUS FOR JIE, DENMARK, 1960s

Nifty weed pot or candle holder designed by Elsi Bourelius for Jie Verkstad, Sweden, circa 1960s, the light brown clay body in the form of a stylized woman in dress with apron, shawl, and cap, glazed in tones of mottled custard yellow, white, and bright orange, 7-1/2" tall, with the original labels.

A striking and colorful example from this well regarded Scandinavian firm.

CONDITION: In excellent condition, with no cracks, chips, or crazing. (Please note that the backward lean is part of the original design, the figure's feet molded to provide this incline.)
