Two vintage hotel platters, heavy restaurant ware, including:
1) Hotel Westminster, Boston, Massachusetts, made by Lamberton China, circa 1910s, the rim decorated with a scroll and foliate border in olive green edged by a fine red band, 13-1/2" wide, marked "Lamberton China, Made Expressly for Hotel Westminster by Mitchell, Woodbury Co., Boston." Originally built right after the turn of the twentieth century on Copley Plaza, the hotel was demolished in 1961 to make way for the present-day John Hancock Tower.
2) Hotel Gibson, Cincinnati, made by Warwick China, circa 1920s, the edge decorated with a Greek key pattern in gray, approx. 14" x 9-3/4", marked "Warwick China, Made Especially for Hotel Gibson, Cincinnati, O." The all-new Hotel Gibson, designed by famed architect Gustav W. Drach, opened in 1913 and was eventually demolished in 1977 to make way for the US Bank Tower/Westin Hotel.
CONDITION: Surface wear and utensil marks from normal use, otherwise very good condition, with no cracks or chips.
