Lot of two vintage pieces of American studio pottery, including: 1) Striking vintage vase by Walter Hall, circa 1970s, wheel-thrown light brown stoneware in footed or goblet form, the bowl with irregular indented band and slightly flaring rim, glazed in mottled tones of semi-matte tan and brown, 5-3/8" tall, the base incised "Walter Hall"; 2) Vintage vase of reddish tan stoneware, circa 1950s, ovoid form with short everted rim, the exterior featuring fine vertical incised bands glazed in matte brown, 6-3/4" tall, the based incised "LEE 5-55" (evidently a date).
Hall studied at Haverford College (B.A. in Fine Arts, 1971) and University of Massachusetts Amherst (MFA in ceramics, 1975) and who taught ceramics at the University of Hartford for more than forty years.
Notes: In very fine, attractive condition, with no cracks or chips
