Lot of two vintage pieces of American studio pottery, including: 1) Scarce, early, and handsome art pottery pitcher by Michael Wendt, Idaho, 1975, hand-thrown light yellow clay in flaring ovoid form with ridged neck, pinched rim, and applied handle, finished in drip glazes in varying mottled tones of reddish brown, olive-ocher, off-white, and gray, 6-1/8" tall, the underside incised "75 WENDT" with 1509 handwritten in ink; 2) Candlestick, light brown stoneware in handled chamberstick form with dished base decorated with bullseye motifs and tapering shaft with bulbous turning, finished in a mottled glaze in tones of ivory and brown, 5-1/4" tall, the base incised "Barbara" with the number 12.
A striking and very early example from Wendt, who built his first kiln only a year before, in 1974.
Notes: In very fine, attractive condition, with no cracks or chips
