Item Description

Two handsome antique Native American beadwork wall hangings or ornaments, Iroquois, early 20th century, clear and colored glass beads stitched over linen and purple/magenta velvet, three-lobed form resembling stylized hearts, the centers with stylized floral motif, the edges with groups of suspended loops, hanging loop at top of each, the overall dimensions (including hanging/suspended loops) approx 9" to 9-1/2" tall by 5-1/2" wide.

A striking handicraft of a type produced for tourists and collectors in the early 20th century.


Notes: CONDITION: Losses to backing oilcloth (invisible from front and not affecting integrity in the least), otherwise fine, attractive condition, the beading secure and fully intact.
