SCARCE POTTERY MOON AND SUN SCULPTURE BY LINDA MIELKE, FLORIDA, 1980s - 1990s

Scarce and fabulous vintage sculpture by Linda Mielke, 1980s–1990s, raku-fired pottery with polychrome glazes, in the form of a convex disc with deeply incised stylized sun on one side and moon on the other, resting on an integral, similarly decorated hollow rectangular pedestal, the sun side featuring clasped hands, the moon side with large pierced five-pointed star, the "neck" with a necklace of woven cord with natural buttons, the overall dimensions approx. 19-1/2" tall by 10-3/4" wide by 3-7/8" deep, with incised signature "Linda Mielke" in the black area beneath the moon face.

A large, exceptional example of highly uncommon form from this well-regarded studio potter based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

CONDITION: In very fine, untouched original condition, with no cracks or chips.
