Scarce and stunning EAPG vase in the No. 16014 (aka Gainsboro, aka Enamelled Pansy) by the United States Glass Co., circa 1896, the body of paneled trumpet form with scalloped rim, resting on a petaled base with leaflike molding, the side decorated with a hand-enameled spray of various flowers, approx. 11-1/8" tall.
One of the most striking, distinctive, and uncommon vases from the golden age of American pattern glass.
CONDITION: Usual small manufacturing irregularities, and some very faint, subtle traces of previous iridized gold staining at the rim and foot, otherwise fine, attractive condition, with no cracks, chips, or haze.
