Item Description

Scarce porcelain cup and saucer, Imperial Russian (possibly the Gardner manufactory), 18th–19th century, porcelain with a design of wide alternating flow blue–style and white rays with gilt floral accents, the cup of paneled form with parcel-gilt interior, the deeply dished saucer approx. 5-1/2" in diameter, the cup approx. 3-3/8" in diameter at the rim by 2-1/2" tall.

The bottom of the saucer bears an early handwritten collector's label reading, "St. Petersburg porcelain was made in factory of Catherine the Great 1762–1796. It is comparatively rare."

Notes: CONDITION: Scattered rubbing to gilt; the cup with small flake to exterior of rim with old amateur repair/touch-up; otherwise good condition (stand not included).
