Samuel and Nathaniel Buck (British, 19th century): "The North Prospect of Gravesend in the County of Kent," hand-colored engraving, 1739, sight size 32" x 12", housed under anti-glare glass in a later painted wooden frame measuring 34-1/4" x 14-1/4" overall.

One of a series of panoramic topographical images of England and Wales by the Bucks which documented British landscapes and townscapes prior to radical transformation by the Industrial Revolution.


Notes: CONDITION: Light, unobtrusive bisecting vertical fold (as issued); frame with scattered small surface losses; otherwise fine condition, the print remaining clean and attractive, with no evident defects (not examined outside frame). A very good impression, with distinct details.
