Rare four-record set, "Music of Michigan," featuring the University of Michigan Band and University Glee Club, issued by the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan, 1940s, comprising four shellac 10-inch 78 r.p.m. discs in a pictorial album measuring 12" x 10-1/4".
Features performances led by U of M legends William D. Revelli (Concert Band) and David E. Mattern (Varsity Glee Club). Despite the single damaged disc, an extremely scarce and desirable set; no other online seller is offering another example, and OCLC locates only three institutional copies. A true treasure for the devoted Michigan alum or collector of rare concert band recordings!
CONDITION: A bit of rubbing and mild wear to covers of album; some minor scuffs; one disc with an edge break measuring approx. 2" long by 3/8" wide (the broken piece included); still very good overall, the records generally clean and bright. (Note that while I do not have the proper equipment to play-test the records, I made a close visual inspection of all four and found no hairlines or other significant damage except as noted.)
