Item Description

Obie Oberholzer (South African, born 1947): "Milford Sound, South Island, New Zealand," original hand-printed color analogue photograph on Fujicolor Crystal Archive paper, 2002, titled in ink in the lower margin and signed "Obie Oberholzer '02," 20" x 16".

The locale depicted is in New Zealand's Fiordland National Park, one of the main filming locations for Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy. Oberholzer has been the subject of more than 35 one-man exhibitions in South Africa and many other internationally in Europe and North America. Renowned as a travel, magazine, and commercial photographer, his work has appeared in Color Photography, Foto, Stern, Conde Nast Traveler, and scores of other publications. Oberholzer is, in addition, the author of 10 books of photography.

CONDITION: Some very slight, unobtrusive rippling at lower right corner; otherwise fine, attractive condition, with excellent clarity and no color shift or fading.
