LARGE VINTAGE FRAMED RUBBING OF AN 18TH-CENTURY GRAVESTONE FROM WELLFLEET, MASSACHUSETTS

Handsome vintage grave rubbing, mid-20th century, russet-colored crayon or pastel on fibrous Japan paper, depicting the headstone of Jonathan Young, "who died Nov. 7, 1799, Aged 79 years, 6 mos.," the stone surmounted by a stylized angel's head and wings, sight size 32" x 19-5/8", matted and framed under glass to an overall size of 40" x 27-1/2".

According to the given death and age information, the stone is evidently that of an individual of that name buried in Wellfleet, Massachusetts.
