FOUR EAPG CUSTARDS IN THE CITY/CROSSED DISKS PATTERN (LAURA INGALLS WILDER ASSOCIATION), 1880s

Winning Bid
$5.00
Item #1960
Lot #96 of 160
Item Description

Scarce set of four footed small bowls or custards in the City pattern (aka Crossed Disks or Crossed Discs), made by the McKee Glass Co., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1880s, with scalloped rim, low circular pedestal foot, and characteristic handles, approx. 4" in diameter at the rim by 2-1/8" tall.

A lesser-seen form (shown in the 1882 McKee catalogue as "4 in. comport") in this pattern, which has become especially well-known and collectible as the glassware ordered by Little House on the Prairie author Laura Ingalls Wilder and her husband, Almanzo, from the Montgomery Ward catalog in the 1880s.

CONDITION: A few tiny, unobtrusive flakes and rough spots to feet, otherwise very good, attractive condition overall.
