FINE VINTAGE STUDIO POTTERY VASE BY MARY SEYFARTH, CHICAGO, 1976

Winning Bid
$16.00
Item #1213
Lot #76 of 153
Item Description

Scarce and striking vintage vase by Mary Seyfarth, 1976, fine-grained reddish-brown stoneware in cylindrical form, the exterior hand-decorated with bamboo stalks and foliage in chocolate brown against a mottled russet background with touches of ecru, 7-1/4" tall by 3-7/8" in diameter, the base signed "Seyfarth '76."

An uncommonly early example from this much-respected and widely exhibited potter based in Chicago.

Notes: In very fine condition, with no cracks, chips, or crazing. (Please note that the small light-colored spots near the base are drips of a lighter-colored glaze, not damage.)
