Scarce and handsome antique rotating grill or griddle, probably New England, 18th–early 19th century, wrought iron, the rotating wheel with four spokes atop a base with four bent feet, the handle with two central penny swells terminating in a twist and flat rat-tail curl, 22-1/2" long by 9" wide by 2-5/8" tall.
A handsome, authentic period example of this distinctive utilitarian form, found in southern New Hampshire.
CONDITION: Age-appropriate wear (a few tiny, minor metal losses), otherwise fine, attractive condition, the wheel turning freely, retaining a pleasing, untouched original patina.
