Handsome and unusual antique coffee pot or teapot made by the Rockford Silver Plate Co., Rockford, Illinois, late 19th–early 20th century, silverplate in graceful paneled form with corseted neck, hinged lid, and carved ebony handle with thumb rest, the flat "shelf" at mid-body ornately engraved "Tecumseh," approx. 9-1/4" tall, with the circular "Rockford Silver P. Co., Quadruple" mark featuring a balance scale.
The "Tecumseh" inscription likely relates to a hotel, inn, restaurant, club, or other such establishment. Given the age of the pot and the fact that it was found in New Hampshire, the item likely originated at a hotel or resort near Mount Tecumseh in the White Mountains.
Notes: Surface wear with heavy tarnishing and plating losses; very slight "rock" to base; otherwise very good overall, with no breaks, losses, or leaks
