ANTIQUE MINIATURE CHILD'S CUP OR MUG, "FOR A GOOD GIRL," 19TH CENTURY

Scarce and charming antique children's cup, mid-19th century, porcelain finished in a brown Albany slip or Rockingham-type glaze, the front embossed "For a Good Girl," 1-3/4" tall.

A lovely and uncommon example of pleasing diminutive size. The unusual (for porcelain) glaze treatment is more typical of stoneware of that era.

Notes: A few typical small glaze skips original to manufacture (note that none of the visible white spots are chips), otherwise very fine, attractive condition, with no cracks, chips, crazing, or staining.
