Handsome antique pedestal dish or compote in the Grosvenor pattern by Wedgwood, Etruria, England, circa 1901, the dished body with shaped edge resting on a flaring foot of inverted similar form, the blue transfer decoration featuring swag, shell, scroll, and floral motifs, approx. 9-1/4" in diameter by 2-1/2" tall, the underside marked (in underglaze blue) "Grosvenor, Etruria, England, Wedgwood" and (impressed) "WEDGWOOD, BDD" with additional impressed tally letters.
Quite uncommon in this form, striking for display or use as a server, centerpiece, or fruit bowl.
Notes: A bit of mild surface wear and faint, fine crazing (a few small, faint discolorations), otherwise near fine, attractive condition overall, with no cracks or chips
